Marvin Bloos, Q.C., a senior member of Beresh Cunningham restricts his practice to criminal appeals and related litigation, also providing criminal law and Charter of Rights consulting services concerning pending or on-going criminal appeals and trial matters.

Marvin, a graduate of Queens University and the University of Alberta, has practiced Criminal law for over 30 years. He enjoys a strong reputation as appellate counsel and has appeared hundreds of times in the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada and the Courts of Appeal of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Nunavut.

A member of the Law Societies of Alberta and Saskatchewan, Marvin was for four years, the Chair of the Canadian Council of Criminal Defence Lawyers. He is a past president of the Alberta Criminal Trial Lawyers Association, and was also an editor and contributor to The Criminal Appeals Law Reporter. Mavin has over 40 published articles to his credit and has taught Advanced Criminal Law at the University of Alberta.

Called upon regularly to speak at criminal-law meetings, classes and seminars, Mr. Bloos is a member of several national and provincial committees concerning criminal law and appellate practice. Since 1997 he has been a Uniform Law Conference Commissioner serving in the capacity as Defence counsel representative at the annual meetings of the Uniform Law Conference of Canada.
