Michael Sparks
B.A., LL.B.

Mike joined the firm in 2004 after obtaining his Bachelor of Law degree at the University of Alberta. He has practiced exclusively in the area of criminal law since being called to the bar in 2005.

While completing his degree, Mike focused his studies strictly on criminal law, trial advocacy and evidence. He was deeply involved in the Criminal Law Project of Student Legal Services, representing people at trial that were charged with various criminal offences. Mike's first success involved a constitutional argument that resulted in the evidence of an impaired driving prosecution being excluded and the client acquitted.

Mike has successfully defended and represented people in all levels of court throughout Alberta on a variety of offences: Murder, sexual assault, impaired driving, theft, fraud, robbery, assault and drug offences. He has also been involved in the preparation of appeals before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Mike is happy to meet with you and discuss any legal problem you may have in person, or over the phone, wherever you may be with a guarantee of confidentiality. Mike does not charge any fee for a first time consultation and is flexible to meet with you after regular business hours or on the weekend.
